When a player picks up a Masher, I want them to say...

"This is the best bat there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be!!!"

MASH BATS and the 2005 ALL-STAR game

MAN-RAM.................A-ROD................are you kidding me!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you were watching the All-Star game and you saw Manny Ramirez and Alex Rodriguez swinging a Mash Bat then you weren't seeing things. Manny who has been swinging one of Edgar Renterias bats for the past few weeks and placed an order for his own merely 7 days before the All-Star game recieved his bats on Sunday night as Dave drove down to Detroit personally to deliver the bats. Manny simply said that thses bats are great and that he was glad that I was able to get him the bats because he wanted to use his own on Tuesday. Alex must have used one of Manny's bats during the game. He must like them, he used them in all of his at bats during the game and has used them in the second half of the season.

Vernon Wells what a season....

It was on Mothers Day of 2003 when I was with the family watching the Jays playing the A's. I was keeping a eye out for Tom Wilson who has been using our bats for a couple of seasons when I fell out of my chair as Vernon Wells stepped to the plate with a Mash Bat. As the story goes, Vernon had tried Willies bat and fell in love with it. The first time I spoke with him I asked him about the bats and he told me that these were the hardest bats he has ever used.

Vernon Wells

Vernon went on to have his best season of his young career. Vernon broke the Blue Jays single season hits record with 215 hits. (Once held by Tony Fernandez) He also finished in the top 5 in Batting Average .317 (4th), RBI's 117 (3rd), Runs 118 (3rd), Hits 215 (1st), and Doubles 49 (1st). Vernon had a great 2002 a better 2003 and hopefully the trend will continue and 2004 will be just as good or better than 2003.

Thank you Vernon!!

The quality of our bats begin right from the mill;even before the wood is cut down to our turning blank size we inspect it for straight grain patterns and clarity. This will ensure a quality bat that meets the demands of our professional baseball players. When the wood is turned to size it is once again inspected for clarity, any bat that does not pass inspection at this stage will not be sold. We then sand and finish the wood. All of our bats are made specifically for use by Professional players, this means that we only use our very best pro stock in each and every bat that we produce. When you order a bat from us you can be confident that you are using the very same bats that are produced for our Pro Players.

Try them out, you will not be disappointed.

Vernon likes his, over 100 other big leaguers have had a chance to swing a Masher!!.

Quick Hits (items of interest)

1. 2005 Spring Training - Well we just returned from our most successful spring training trip ever. We did sell a few bats but that was not was successful about it, well OK maybe it was but the most impressive part for us was the reception we recieved from the players. Last year when we talked to the players they were like MASH BATS, I've never heard of you guys. This year was a bit different, we got a lot of Mash Bats, yeah I've seen those. I heard they are the hardest bats out there. I need to try these. It's kind of funny seeing these big leaguers scamper around so they can talk to you. Let me tell you it was a great feeling since all of the red tape involved in the MLB approval process almost made me make an unthinkable decision. We will be updating out PRO PLAYER PAGE shortly so have a look and see who is giving us a shot.

2. 2004 Season - The 2004 has just started and we've been busy. Vernon Wells, Kevin Cash and Tom Wilson will be hitting the field with their Mash Bats. They won't be alone. We have some new players who are giving our bats a try. Players like Bernie Williams, Jorge Posada, Ruben Sierra, Phil Nevin, Brian Giles, Mike Young and Brian Jordan to name a few. Visit our proplayers page for a complete list.

3. New Logo - We have streamlined our logo a little bit. Have a look and let us know what you think.

Old Mash Bats Logo New Mash Bats Logo

4. First Big League - we've had a milestone at Mash Bats in 2002. Our first Big League hit was recorded by Dave Berg of the Jays. On Wednesday night (June 12, 2002) he hit a double down the right field line against the Giants.

Dave Berg signing autographs on the last day of the season. Thanks for your help Dave and I'm glad you think our bats are great.

In 1904 - The an unbreakable record is set!!

Despite his three 20-win seasons since 1901, no one expected Jack Chesbro to have the sort of year he did for the New York Highlanders, turning in a masterful pitching performance and keeping them in the pennant race practically single handedly. The stocky 30-year-old right-hander won 41 games, a modern baseball record which stands to this day. He started 51 games and completed all but 3 of them Cy Young finished second with 26 wins.
