What's the best bat for me?

There is no straight out answer for this question. We all have guide lines and size charts that help but a style of bat really is determined by the style of hitter you are. If you were a big power hitter what kind of bat do you think you would use? A heavy one or a light one. Well many people have different opinions on that. If you want to hit the ball far then you need to generate bat speed. You will be able to swing the bat faster if it was lighter so the answer to that question would be a lighter bat.

What bat is best for you, any wood bat. Hitting with wood will make you a much better hitter. Even if you just use it in B.P. or practice, you'll see the improvement once you learn about the sweet spot.

Now if you hit for average will you need a light bat or a heavy one. Put two and two together and the answer is a heavier bat. Do you know why? Well if you hit for average you probably hit to all fields. This means you have great bat control. Many people might think you will have greater bat control with a lighter bat, this is no the case. If you are swinging a light bat you will try to swing it too fast if you are not a power hitter. So the answer is if you hit for average you will probably prefer a heavier bat.

Now with all of that said, you are not going to know what type of hitter you are until you develop and your opinion might not be the same as mine and that's O.K. You will be the only one who will know what bat best suits your style of hitting and most importantly of all, what you are most comfortable with.

This size chart is basically a good tool to get you started in choosing the proper bat.
